Gentle Stranger (Another Version)

We spoke at first some years ago
I heard her voice as clear as snow
but where did she so sudden go
oh, only she would surely know

Few would see her poems kept
for when she stepped for joy I wept
and on that night she moved me up
a mighty joy she swept abrupt

Of memories years ago she brought
a comfort voice, a comfort thought
today she comes, tomorrow she goes
where is she from perhaps God knows

One thing for sure she made me strong
her words and might a brand new song
She always will, will always be
the closest  someone could be to me

When will I hear my friend again
my patience tried out in the rain
she comes and goes just as she sees
suddenly like wind moves on trees

Though years go by as things do change
will always recall her voice so strange
so when I think where could she be
somwhere afar in clouds of melody.
